Blendtec blender is best at gritty and dry things, whereas Vitamix does well when liquids need to be liquefied and mixed together.
With its 3 HP, Blendtec has more max horsepower than Vitamix, which means it can chop through almost anything. It can also blend through things better, giving you a nice-looking smooth product. However, it doesn’t do as well with pasty stuff like nut butter.
The Vitamix with its 2.2 HP does better when liquids are involved because of its variable speed control. This blender can make better quality purees because of its wider blade that reaches the edges of each side of the blades.
So in terms of performance, we can say that Blendtec has a slight edge, and it’s the winner here.

We’ve purposely picked the models from the two brands that we consider as the best opponents. That’s why the evaluation here is harder for us to make because they are both fairly quiet. And they are significantly quieter than the other blenders on the market.
However, we found that Blendtec Classic 575 produces slightly more noise than the Vitamix A3500 Ascent model (probably with a 1-decibel difference).
So if the noise is something that bothers you, then you should go with the Vitamix Ascent model.

Also, all Blendtecs’ containers are dishwasher safe, while not every Vitamix container is dishwasher safe. However, that isn’t the case here, because Ascent containers are fully dishwasher safe – fair comparison, right?
All current Blendtec and Vitamix containers are BPA-free, lightweight plastic that will survive almost any accident. These tough jars are also extremely durable to resist breakage if it happens to you drop either one of them accidentally!

Most of the Vitamix blenders have classic variable speed controls with 10-speed rotating dials. But the Ascent model we are testing today comes with an LCD timer, manual speed-dial, and five presets for hot soups, smoothies, frozen desserts, dips, and self-cleaning.
On the other side, Blendtec blenders come with an innovative control panel for one-touch blending. Meaning, you just need to press a button, and your job is done.
You will find the preprogrammed blending cycles, manual speed controls, and pulse function for continuous and smooth blending. The controls may slightly differ from model to model, but they are pretty self-explanatory.
So, we can’t really decide who is the winner here since both of these models offer modern and easy-to-use controls. But generally speaking, Blendtec has a slightly better control panel for all models, and we have to give them a winning point in this comparison.

Blendtec has one blade that is 2 inches in height and 4 inches in diameter – with a square cross-section.
Vitamix blade is flat with four prongs that reach the edges of each side of the blades.
Both of their blades are thick and blunt that don’t dull easily over time.
Also, both of the blades come along with the containers, so you can’t remove them separately (as you shouldn’t because you may void the warranty).

Vitamix vs Blendtec Comparison #2 – Testing Blender Recipes
Now it’s time to test the preparation of different recipes with our two models.
The Hot Soup Test
Both blenders are capable of preparing steaming-hot soups with a power of friction and without the need for a stove.
Although we got pretty much the same amazing results from both blenders, we found that the Hot-Soup preset button from the Vitamix blender does a better job of preparing a hot and delicious soup.
So we will give a winning point here to Vitamix.
The Smoothie Test
Making a smoothie in both of these blenders couldn’t be easier. You just need to press one button and let the blender do its magic.
However, there is a small difference in the results.
Since Vitamix makes use of a tamper to push the ingredients down towards the blades, it can make your smoothies much better with an extra soft consistency.
On the other side, the Blendtec blender doesn’t use a tamper, and the vortex is not powerful enough to blend everything perfectly. The end result is still very good, but not as good as Vitamix.
So, Vitamix wins here once again!
The Ice Drinks Test
We’ve tried to make an icy piña colada cocktail with both blenders, and they both produced refreshing and tasty drinks.
Since we’ve include ice cubes in our recipe, the two blenders got much noisier than usual, but it was tolerable.
However, in this test, we found that the Vitamix blender was able to produce our summer cocktail much faster than Blendtec (in less than a minute).
Also, the piña colada was more slushy with Vitamix, while Blendtec’s piña colada had some small bits of ice in the drink. The reason behind this is probably the Vitamix’s tamper, which helped us to blend the ingredients better and make the perfect piña colada.
So, Vitamix is the winner here as well!
The Hummus Test
While testing our favorite hummus recipe, we found that both of the blenders did an amazing job!
We’ve made this popular Mediterranean dip within 1 minute in both blenders, where the ingredients in both cases were perfectly mixed into a smooth and consistent puree.
The hummuses prepared in Vitamix and Blendtec were equally creamy and spreadable, so we can’t really decide which blender wins this round – so, it’s a tie!
The Peanut Butter Test
Both the Blendtec Classic 575 and Vitamix A3500 Ascent models can puree peanuts into tasty peanut butter. However, we’ve noticed some differences in the end result here.
The peanut butter prepared in the Vitamix blender resembled more like the one you will find in health food stores. Vitamix’s peanut butter was much thicker and grittier than Blendtec’s peanut butter.
Blendtec’s peanut butter on the other side was thinner and runnier. Nonetheless, it was still very delicious.
The difference is not too noticeable here, but if we have to decide which is better, we will go with Vitamix.
The Bread Dough Test
Our final test was making bread dough. Yes, you can make a great dough in your blender without the need to knead by hand!
As we expected, both blenders did an amazing job in making dough in their containers. The dough was perfectly mixed and kneaded in both blenders, so we can’t decide which one is better.
Both blenders can create a great, stretchy bread dough, so there is no winner here – it’s tie once again.
